A few times when we were driving through Miami, I would see this shop called “Art By God” that had a skeleton of some giant animal in the window and large stuffed animals outside.  Enticing to anyone else??!  Finally, on a day when we weren’t particularly in a hurry, we stopped to take a look.  As we walked through the door, I felt a mixture of conflicting emotions.  I was appalled, amazed, and excited.  This shop had everything from fossils, to shark jaws, to displays of exotic insects, to antelope skulls, to elephant heads…..and on and on.  The skeleton in the window, I found out, was a manatee.  Crazy.  How often to you get to see ANY of this, let alone in one place!?  It was truly awesome.  On the other hand, I kept thinking about how many hundreds of dead creatures were sitting there in a stupid store in Miami…. seemed so…..degrading and disrespectful.  You can check out the store by clicking the link above.  Below is one I snapped while walking around.  Freaky, huh?  And the name of the store…… <giant eye roll>……

    Its like that scene in Ace Ventura where he enters the trophy room with all the animal carcasses and he freaks out!
