Check out this awesome video on how hummingbird tongues work.  Scientists used to think the long, tiny tongue worked to intake nectar from flowers using capillary action, but recent evidence suggests otherwise.  The tongue is actually forked and the edge roll inward to scoop nectar as the tongue is drawn in to the mouth.  High speed video is changing the way we understand every movement of every animal!
