Radiation from the damaged Japanese Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant has been detected in Florida.  See the article HERE.  Its being emphasized that the levels are low and not a health threat, but I can’t help but think that the concentrations are only going to go up as the effects of the worsening conditions at the power plant continue to spread across the ocean.  I’m not hugely worried about it here in Florida (yet) but the fact that trace levels are showing up here really show how wide spread this disaster is becoming.  Man, I hope they get a lid on this situation fast……not only for the people being affected, but all the other organisms as well.

Hey, I was looking for the original article you linked to, but it’s no longer available. Interestingly, most original articles about radiation from Fukushima in Florida have been scrubbed from the internet.

Fast forward to 2014 check out this article on http://www.enenews.com —>

“Fukushima fallout on vegetation in South Florida exceeded gov’t notification limit by over 1,000% — Nearly triple the highest level reported anywhere on West Coast”
