Here’s the bad news.  Little Diji, the bearded dragon died unexpectedly a month or 2 ago.  Very very sad.  He was a good pet and I hope he had a happy life.

Being the thoughtful person he is, Dave brought home a new baby bearded dragon a week later.  After doing some reading, I found that these animals are best kept in groups, or at least pairs, in order to allow them to experience (and for us to view) the full repertoire of their behaviors.  It turns out these dragons are highly social reptiles and they set up dominance hierarchies within their groups.  So, as you probably guessed, we got dragon 1 a buddy and their names are Dignan and Rooney.  Check um out!

Best friends!… sometimes. Other times they are stomping on each other and fighting.

Hanging on a branch.  Dignan (left) is darker with a more black and white coloration whereas Rooney (right) is more yellow/brown all over with a red spot by his ears.

Eatin some lettuce

They are hilarious together!  The video below shows Dignan displaying one of their typical submissive behaviors – waving!  It is so funny to watch them sit and wave at each other!  What silly little animals.  🙂
