Gumbo limbo Environmental complex, the nature center where I do my work, recently started a sea turtle rehab program where sick, injured and stranded turtles can be nursed back to health.  They did this just in time for the cold snap we just had down here, which caused them to receive several such turtles, many of which had tumors on their bodies.  These tumors are called fibropapilloma and are thought to be caused by environmental pollutants, such as fertilizers in run-off.  Yesterday Gumbo Limbo had several area vets come in to perform around 30 surgeries to remove these tumors.  See the story below (video included).
